Weddings are the toughest to photograph. You get ONE SHOT. That’s it. And if you screw up… well, I can’t even fathom that idea. I am not a wedding photographer. But I have done it twice for two people I love very much. One wedding I was actually in so most of it was shot by my Dad and brother. I included one photo that I took that day which is my favorite. The rest were taken of my niece when she was married – very much on a budget and these photos were my gift to them. And when I say I have never worked as hard taking photos that day, I HAVE NEVER WORKED THAT HARD before. I gained a whole lot of respect for those who make wedding photography their main bread and butter. There is a reason why you pay them the big bucks. There is a lot of pressure to not miss a moment and to get it all right. Preserving a memory that should be a once in a lifetime, that’s a lot to put on one person. I admire people who can do this.
